Illustration for inspiration: Sanna Annukka for Marimekko
I got this lovely cup recently as a birthday present for my godmother Koh, but I had to take some snaps of it before I wrapped it up as it was just so very pretty.
I’ve been a big admirer of Sanna Annukka’s illustrations for probably about 3 or 4 years now, as her rounded, simple, often patterned shapes, and folk style really draw you in. I also really love the poppy colour palette of this design in particular (called Kukkuluuruu), and the rest of her autumn/winter 2014 collection for Marimekko is just up my street too with lots of bright, blocky designs inspired by the rich nature of Scandinavia.
