I’m really loving how lush and green the bakery garden is a the moment. Our pear tree is full of fruit which makes me excited about starting some autumn projects, as I didn’t get to make full use of our harvest last year due to rascals coming and scrumping all of our pears!
This year I plan to make pear and ginger cakes, tarts and caramels, as well as using them in sweet breads like challah (this recipe in particular is calling out to be rejigged!)
I am also really excited about Sourdough September, as my bread baking has taken a bit of a back seat recently with all the pine nut blondie and elderflower cordial making that I’ve been getting up to! Time to get back to what I love most – bread baking.
